Exchange Students of China Business Study Course Visited HWBYS
On Nov 23rd, as the last session of the course China Business Study, International Relations Office (IRO) of Lingnan (University) College organized the exchange students enrolled in this course to visit Hutchison Whampoa Guangzhou Baiyunshan Chinese Medicine Company Limited (HWBYS), which is located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou.

Mr. Xu Keyi, the chairman of HWBYS, greeted our students. He briefly introduced the development history, management mission and core competitiveness of HWBYS. Since its establishment in 2005, HWBYS has insisted on its management mission - Education, Care, Science & Technology, Creativity, and Accountability.

Through developing its core competitiveness in terms of technology innovation, talents strategy, accountability marketing, culture descending, Chinese medicine & football, HWBYS has become one of the largest Chinese medicine manufacturers in South China.

Afterwards, several staff of HWBYS guided students to visit the museum, introducing the history, function, and development of traditional Chinese medicine. Through this visit, students gained a more comprehensive understanding of traditional Chinese medicine. They also expressed strong interest in knowing much more about Chinese culture.
About China Business Study:
China Business Study, designed by Lingnan (University) College, is a special course for international exchange students (Lingnan receives about 100 international exchange students each year). It introduces both theoretical and practical knowledge about how Chinese businesses operate in domestic and global markets. This course will invite senior professors, mostly from the Department of International Business and the Department of Business Management, to lecture on topics such as China’s economy, regional economy, foreign enterprises in China, management and entrepreneurship, Chinese culture, and business laws, etc. It aims to provide students with an up-to-date knowledge about business practice in China, and to help them understand the basics and protocol when interacting with Chinese people in the business environments.
