Driven by Collaboration: Lingnan College Delegation Visits U.S. Universities to Deepen Academic Exchange

Recently, a delegation from Lingnan College, Sun Yat-sen University, composed of Associate Dean and Associate Professor Yun Dai, Assistant Dean and Professor Zhun Xu, and Associate Professor Mingmian Cheng, Academic Director of International Programs, undertook an academic visit to the United States to advance international cooperation and institutional engagement.

 

The visit focused on strengthening partnerships with overseas universities, advancing the development of international programs, and promoting high-level talent cultivation. During the trip, the delegation visited several U.S. universities for working meetings and engaged with local alumni organizations, further consolidating Lingnan College's framework for overseas cooperation and alumni network development.

 

The delegation visits Rutgers University–Newark.

 

The delegation first visited Rutgers University–Newark, where discussions centered on the jointly established W.T. Chan Fellowships Program. Meetings were held with the program team to exchange views on student mobility, hosting arrangements, and the operational mechanisms of the fellowship, laying a solid foundation for the program's smooth implementation and sustained development.

 

The delegation visits The New School in New York.

 

The delegation subsequently visited The New School in New York and held working meetings with Professor Alex Aleinikoff, Dean of the New School for Social Research (NSSR), and Professor Paulo L. dos Santos, Chair of the Department of Economics. The discussions focused on social science research, global issue–oriented teaching, models of advanced talent cultivation, and potential institutional collaboration. The two sides also explored future opportunities for cooperation in areas such as joint training programs and academic exchange.

 

 

The delegation attends activities organized by the Washington, D.C. Alumni Association and the New York Alumni Association.

 

In addition to university visits, the delegation attended activities organized by the Washington, D.C. Alumni Association and the New York Alumni Association. Associate Dean Yun Dai introduced recent developments at Lingnan College and its internationalization strategy, and exchanged views with alumni on strengthening alumni networks, enhancing resource coordination, and expanding collaboration in academic exchange, student development, and career support. She also expressed sincere appreciation for alumni's long-standing support of the College.

 

This visit further strengthened Lingnan College's ties with overseas partner institutions and its global alumni community, providing strong support for the College's continued expansion of international cooperation, the development of high-level international engagement platforms, and the cultivation of globally competitive talent.
