Program Overview
Lingnan College offers a four-year, full-time undergraduate program that combines a broad liberal arts foundation with specialized disciplinary training. Students build knowledge in economics, mathematics and statistics, developing intellectual curiosity, analytical skills and independent thinking. The program allows students to pursue flexible academic pathways, and careers in business, finance, public policy and related fields.
Economics Major
This major provides comprehensive training in theoretical and applied economics. Students understand China's economic development, institutional reforms, and integration into the global economy, while also gaining a broader perspective on international economic trends. Students learn to apply economic reasoning to real-world problems, and are well-prepared for advanced research, public policy analysis, and strategic consulting.

Finance Major
The major strengthens students' foundation in mathematics, enabling them to master financial models and quantitative analysis tools. The curriculum integrates macro- and micro- finance, covering financial institutions, capital markets, investment and risk management. Students are also introduced to emerging areas of the financial industry, including fintech, algorithmic trading, and digital finance.

Digital Economy Major
Integrating modern economic theory with the application of digital technology, the curriculum highlights platform economics, artificial intelligence and information economics, enabling students to understand how technological change is reshaping markets, businesses, and economic activity. Students learn to analyze digital business models and address emerging challenges in the digital economy, preparing for further studies and careers in tech-driven industries.

Dual Degree in Finance and Computer Science
Jointly offered by Lingnan College and the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Sun Yat-sen University, this program combines modern finance theory with rigorous training in algorithms, big data analytics, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. Through an interdisciplinary curriculum and entrepreneurial projects, students develop strong computational skills and financial expertise, competent for technical roles in such areas as fintech, quantitative trading, and financial infrastructure.

Students pursuing the Economics, Finance, and Digital Economy majors share a common first-year curriculum, with core courses in economics, mathematics, and statistics. At the end of the freshman year, students declare one of the three majors based on their academic strengths and career goals.
