It operates across five campuses in three vibrant cities—Guangzhou, Zhuhai, and Shenzhen. SYSU enjoys a firmly established reputation as a top-ten university nationally and a burgeoning international profile. It is propelled forward by the continuous pursuit of academic innovation, and strives to become a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.

Established in 1989, Lingnan College is a leading college of humanities and social sciences within Sun Yat-sen University. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in economics, finance and digital economy, as well as executive education programs, continuing to attract top-performing applicants at every degree level.

The College now operates across Guangzhou and Shenzhen campuses. Guangzhou remains the base for academic depth and broad undergraduate education, while Shenzhen is emerging as a platform for industry engagement, innovation, and practice-oriented graduate development.

Driven by its mission of "Education for Service", the College is dedicated to student development. It prepares students with a strong foundation in specialized knowledge and critical thinking, while fostering a strong sense of social responsibility.

As one of China's most prestigious research institutions, the College actively pursues innovative research paradigms to address critical economic challenges both locally and globally. In particular, Lingnan has played a significant role in the economic and social development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). In recent years, a number of faculty members have been named to national talent programs, with the College consistently ranking among China's leading economics faculties in both aggregate and per-capita output of high-impact publications.

Lingnan College is internationally recognized for its academic excellence. It is accredited by the AACSB and maintains strong international partnerships, collaborating with over 40 prestigious universities worldwide. Its extensive alumni network of over 150,000 graduates further strengthens its reputation and influence.
