About the Lingnan Foundation

The Lingnan Foundation was established as an independent legal entity in New York State in 1893 by alumni of Lingnan University in Guangzhou and others. Following China's reform and opening-up, the Foundation re-established ties with Sun Yat-sen University in 1980. Since then, it has provided financial support for the University's development and facilitated academic collaboration and exchanges between SYSU and universities and research institutions in the United States.
