Academic Group of International Economy and Regional Economy
The Academic Group of International Economy and Regional Economy was founded in January 2022 with the goal of becoming a distinctive field of economics at Lingnan College. Its main focus is to conduct research and teaching related to international and regional economics. Leveraging the geographical advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, it actively serves society and provides support for national strategic policies.
The current team consists of 9 members, including 4 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, and 1 postdoctoral researcher, all of whom hold doctoral degrees. Most of them have also gained overseas study visits or studying experience. Members' research areas cover international trade, international finance, world economy, international investment, regional and industrial economics, resource and environmental economics, urban economics, international political economy, digital economy, etc. In recent years, the academic group has undertaken a number of projects from the National Social Science Fund of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education and provincial key projects, and the papers have been published in authoritative Chinese journals such as Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal, Journal of Management World, China Economic Quarterly, The Journal of World Economy, China Industrial Economics, etc., as well as top English journals such as Journal of International Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Review of International Economics and China Economic Review and other top English journals. Some members of the group also serve as the Vice President of the Institute of Free Trade Zones, the Institute of Decision Sciences, and the China Institute of Economic Transformation and Opening of Sun Yat-sen University.
The undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses mainly include: International Trade (undergraduate course), International Economics (undergraduate course), International Economics (graduate course), International Economics (doctoral course), International Finance (undergraduate course), Theory and Practice of International Finance (graduate course), Development Economics (graduate course), International Business (graduate course), Multinational Business Management (graduate course), World Economic History (undergraduate course), etc.
