Objectives and Research Fields

In order to achieve the development goals of Lingnan College, research and teaching related to monetary finance are conducted. The research fields cover monetary finance, financial risks, international finance, national finance, new structural economics, financial econometrics and other topics. Its responsibilities include the courses of Monetary Finance, Frontiers of Monetary Finance, National Finance, and Financial Theory and Policies at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.

Faculty

There are now 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 2 assistant professors, 4 postdoctoral and full-time research staff.

Research Results

Centered around the Four Perspectives and focused on issues specific to China, members of our research and teaching team have published their research results in academic journals such as Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal, Journal of Management World, Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, etc. They actively respond to the national call and proactively engage with the national major strategic needs, serving as project leaders for major projects such as the Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Education's Major Research Project in Philosophy and Social Sciences, the General Projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and other major projects. The policy recommendations put forward by them have received numerous endorsements from national and provincial leaders. In recognition of their outstanding achievements, they have been awarded the Ministry of Education's Excellent Scientific Research Award for Higher Education Institutions, the Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences in Guangdong Province, the Liu Shibai Economics Award, the Hong Yinxing Economics Award, as well as being included in national talent programs such as the Ministry of Education's High-Level Young Talents and the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program" for young elite professionals.

Scientific Research Platform

The platforms that the academic group can rely on include the Marine Economy Research Center and the New Structural Economics Research Center at Sun Yat-sen University. The academic group actively leverages the advantages of the research platforms and collaboration capabilities of the team to support its members in applying for projects, organizing academic conferences, and providing powerful support.
