The Academic Group of Quantitative Economy has 8 faculty members, including 2 professor, 4 associate professors, and 1 top-notch young talent of the national "Ten Thousand Talents Program".

The academic group offers master's and doctor's programs in quantitative economics. The faculty's research interests mainly include theories and applied research on quantitative economics. The main characteristics and advantages are reflected in research on non-parametric econometric methodology, and textual big data analysis.

The faculty undertake the teaching of the following undergraduate courses: Econometrics, Econometrics (on Computer), Research Methodology in Economics, Corporate Finance, Time Series Analysis, Financial Econometrics (including experimental teaching), and Financial Derivatives. Among them, Econometrics was recognized as a first-class undergraduate course at the level of Guangdong Province and awarded the title of Guangdong Provincial-level Teaching Team. The faculty have won the first- and second-class Teaching Achievement Award of Higher Education in Guangdong Province, and presided over a number of provincial teaching projects.

They undertake the teaching of the following postgraduate courses: Econometrics, Time Series Analysis, Microeconometrics, Advanced Econometrics, Special Topics on Advanced Econometrics, Special Topics on Frontiers of Economics and Finance, and Empirical Finance. Among them, Econometrics was selected as a demonstration course for postgraduates in Guangdong Province.

Meanwhile, the faculty members of the academic group have been leading several national-level research projects, including the Major Project of the National Social Science Fund of China, the General Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Youth Project. Additionally, they have undertaken various research projects in Guangdong Province, such as the commissioned project from the Guangdong Provincial Tax Service, State Taxation Administration, the research project from the Department of Finance of Guangdong Province, and the project from the Guangdong Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science. Many research projects have received attention and instructions from the leaders of the CPC Central Committee and leaders of Guangdong Province.

The research results of the academic group are fruitful, and many high-quality academic papers have been published in authoritative domestic and foreign journals, such as the Journal of Econometrics, Econometric Theory, Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, China Economic Review, Economics Letters, Economic Research Journal, China Economic Quarterly, Journal of Management World, Statistical Research, and Journal of Financial Research.
