Li Bing is currently Associate Professor at Lingnan College, Sun Yat-sen University, and Head of the economics department. He is also the vice dean of the National Academy of Development at Sun Yat-sen University. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Jilin University in 2008 and his Ph.D. in social sciences from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2011. The main research areas are international trade and urban economics.
He published dozens of papers in international journals and Chinese journals such as Journal of Development Economics, China Economic Review, Review of International Economics, The World Economy, The Economics of Transition, Economic Research Journal (in Chinese), World Economy (in Chinese), and China Industrial Economy (in Chinese).
He oversees two projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has finished 3 provincial and ministerial projects, 5 in charge of major national social sciences sub-projects, 1 participated in the Ministry of Education major projects and several government department projects.
He supervised more than a dozen projects conducted by his students. He is selected into the first batch of excellent innovative and entrepreneurship tutors in China, the director of intellectual property Sub-Committee of China Technical and Economic Association, and the anonymous reviewer of journals such as Economic Research Journal, World Economy, etc.
