[Good News] Lingnan College And MBA Program of Sun Yat-sen University Ranked Top in FT 2018 Asia-Pacific Business School Rankings
On December 3, 2018, Financial Times (FT) published their 2018 rankings of the Asia-Pacific region’s top 25 business schools and top 25 MBA programs. Lingnan College was listed for the first time, ranking 25th in the Asia-Pacific region and 7th in mainland China. Meanwhile, the MBA program of Lingnan College ranked 18th in the Asia-Pacific region and 5th in mainland China.
FT ranking, one of the most authoritative rankings of business schools around the world, is famous for its independent and objective survey method. It comprehensively evaluates the performances of business schools and their programs through a multi-indicator system. Our position in FT 2018 ranking reflects the unremitting efforts made by our college in the past 30 years and also the indefatigable work done by our MBA program in the past 20 years.
Lingnan (University) College, reestablished in 1988 within Sun Yat-sen University, now is one of the top schools of economics and management in China. Guided by the SYSU motto "Study Extensively, Enquire Accurately, Reflect Carefully, Discriminate Clearly, Practice Earnestly" and the Lingnan motto “Education for Service”, the College provides high quality economics and management education that draws strength from the liberal arts and is tirelessly striving for the advancement of teaching and researching economics, finance and management. Currently, Lingnan is accredited by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA Accreditations, which reaffirmed Lingnan as one of a few Chinese schools that can claim international reputation and standing. In recent years, with the joint efforts of teachers and students, our college has made remarkable progress in teaching, scientific research and economic management, building up our reputation and social influence. Sun Yat-sen University's QS for economics ranks 9th in mainland China. The business administration program of Sun Yat-sen University has been selected for the national Double First Class University Plan. From 2000 to 2018, our college has published 19 papers in UT Dallas, one of the top management journals in the world, and was listed among the top schools of economics and management in mainland China in their ranking. In 2017, our college published 51 international papers, including 7 in the A+ and A categories and 20 in the B+ category. We also published 130 Chinese papers, 20 of which are class A papers. According to statistics, the number of high-quality papers published by Lingnan College and the number of papers published per capita are among the top for schools of economics and management. In 2017, Lingnan College established 16 national projects, including 11 national natural science foundation projects and 3 national social science foundation projects, among which 2 are major projects. "Econometrics and decision-making research platform" is one of the "three major" focus areas at Sun Yat-sen university.
