卢荻，中山大学岭南学院教授、博士生导师，政治经济学教研室主任。
学术专业是“发展政治经济学”（the political economy of development），这是一个以世界范围的经济史典型经验融合政治经济学理论为基础的跨学科领域，着重考察经济发展进程中多种政治、社会、文化条件的决定性影响，并在政治经济学的“生产-再生产”框架中加以统一分析和综合，从而得出对现实决策具有指向性意义的论断。“发展政治经济学”的要义，在于强调学科理论与所研究的现实的对应性，就是透过比较研究建构“典型事实”和理论综合，以及在检验这两者的一致性中确认研究的现实合理性和理论深度。这个知识导向是当前世界范围的主流经济学的必要补充——后者具有强烈的倾向要从特定历史经验建构起自认为“放之四海而皆准”的普遍理论，其极致体现是“最有效率市场假说”，将理解现实的视角限定在纯粹经济活动甚至乎纯粹金融活动，从而做出攸关现实上特殊利益的评价和决策建议。相对之下，“发展政治经济学”致力于阐明经济发展进程中特定经验与普遍理论、特殊利益与整体发展的关系，这应该是有利于研究更有普遍意义的世界发展经验，为新时代中国面对全球严峻环境的挑战，提供合理的指向性参考。
