摘要:
      Two firms each sell a product with two attributes. A third-party product review contains credible information about the attribute qualities of both products. Each firm decides whether to costly disclose to consumers the third-party review, thus credibly revealing the attribute qualities of not only its own product but also of the rival's. In promoting its strength in a product attribute, a firm faces the potential tradeoff of exposing its weakness in another attribute. We find that the disclosure decisions can be characterized in terms of the classic concept of absolute and comparative advantages, recast in terms of product attributes. The firm with a leading product withholds disclosure when its absolute advantages are weakest, while the firm with a trailing product withholds disclosure when its comparative advantage is weakest. Our analysis sheds light on the strategic considerations that shape the disclosures of credible yet inflexibly bundled product information.

       赖港华教授从事结合理论与实验的博弈论研究。他的主要研究题材集中在信息不对称下的信息策略传播。他的大部分论文发表在经济学期刊上(例如 Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior),同时也在American Political Science Review和Management Science上发表过研究成果。
