Lingnan College’s Professor Yang Zihui is one of 9 Professors from SYSU selected for the 2017 “Young Scholars of the Yangtze River” list
Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the 2017 annual "Cheung Kong Scholars Programme" list. Nine professors from SYSU were selected, including one Yangtze River Scholar and eight Young Scholars of the Yangtze River. Professor Yang Zihui of our college was selected as a Young Scholar of Yangtze.

The "Cheung Kong Scholars Programme"
The Ministry of Education in 2011 launched a new "Cheung Kong Scholars Programme" as an important component of the National Major Talent Project, together with the "National High-Level Overseas Talents Program" and the "National High-Level Personnel Support Special Plan" to form the countries’ High-Level Talents Support System. So far, there are 82 scholars in our school, a high ranking in China.
Professor YANG Zihui
His doctoral dissertation was awarded National Top 100 Doctoral Dissertation of PR China by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Academic Degree Commission of the State Council. He was also awarded New Century Excellent Talents in University by The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. His current research focuses on financial economics, monetary economies and applied time series analysis. He has published several papers in prestigious academic journals such as Journal of Futures Markets, Economic Research Journal and Management World.
