摘要：

We study impacts of innovation subsidies in industry equilibrium with heterogeneous firms and endogenous entry/exit. Firms with differing innovation capabilities respond to subsidies differently even when the rate of subsidy is uniform. Effects of innovation subsidies on firm’s process innovation, product innovation, and entry/exit vary with differing assumptions on market structure. We discuss interesting empirical implications based on the model. For example, the model delivers an inverted-U relationship between competition and innovation, as noted by the seminal work of Aghion et. al (2005).

报告人介绍：

       周默涵博士2013年毕业于香港大学经济与金融学院，获经济学博士学位；2008年获得武汉大学经济学与数学学士学位。在加入浙大前，他曾任教于中央财经大学。他的研究领域包括异质性企业理论与环境经济学，研究成果见于Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Canadian Journal of Economics, 《世界经济》等学术期刊。
