         Dr. Po Chi Wu is a highly experienced international venture capitalist who has lived and worked both in the United States and in Asia. He particularly enjoys working with early and growth stage technology companies, where his unique insights and hands-on approach can help them grow. His understanding and insights regarding Greater China are critical for helping companies take advantage of the tremendous opportunities there.

        吴葆之博士是具有丰富经验的国际创投人士，并曾分别在美国和亚洲居住和工作。他特别热衷于指导早期和成长型技术公司，并通过其独特的洞察力和切身实践的方法帮助他们成长。吴博士对大中华区的理解和洞察力更重要在于帮助公司充分利用那里的巨大机会。

        He is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business & Management and the School of Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. He has been a venture capitalist and entrepreneur for almost 30 years. Prior to this, he co-founded DragonBridge Capital, a merchant bank focused on China.

        他是香港科技大学工商管理学院、工学院的 兼職教授。他从事风险投资行业近30年，曾合作创立龙桥投资(DragonBridge Capital)，以中国市场为投资重心。

        Previously, he was a co-founder and President of Allegro Capital, a highly successful venture capital firm in Silicon Valley.  Before that, he was a partner at Advent International Corporation, then one of the world's largest international venture capital firms. He opened and headed the California office and was responsible for a number of the firm's investment activities in Asia and in the US.  His career began in late 1985, when he was invited to establish a venture capital subsidiary of what is now China Development Industrial Bank in Taiwan.

        Dr. Wu has lectured at Peking University (Visiting Professor), Sun Yat Sen University, Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley and was also a Visiting Professor at the Mundell International University for Entrepreneurship (Beijing). He has been: Director and former President of the Chinese Software Professionals Association (Silicon Valley), a Trustee of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco Foundation and Chair of the Technology Committee, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Genetic Medicine at the University of Southern California. He served on the Advisory Council of the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkeley, his alma mater. For almost 10 years, he was invited as a guest Lecturer for “Venture Design - The Start-up Company”, a class in the School of Engineering at UC Berkeley.

        吴博士曾经多次做演讲于北京大学 (客座教授)，中山大学，斯坦福大学和加州大学伯克利分校，并兼任蒙代尔国际企业家大学（北京）客座教授。他也曾担任硅谷中华软体协会董事和前总裁，旧金山亚洲艺术馆理事，技术委员会主席，南加州遗传学医学院顾问委员会成员。吴博士还曾是他的母校，加州大学伯克利分校劳伦斯科学中心一员。近十年，他连续受邀以客座讲师身份，在加州大学伯克利分校工程学院教授“风险设计-创业公司”课程。

        Academic Background: Post-doctoral research and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University (1972) and B. A. degree in Mathematics and Music from the University of California at Berkeley (1966). Po Chi Wu’s dedication to education and the cultural history of China can be traced back through several generations of illustrious scholars in his family. His great grand-father was a Hanlin Scholar in the Ching Dynasty. Dr. Wu’s father, Professor Wu, Ta-You, was a highly respected theoretical physicist and educator .
