课程介绍
This course is designed to illustrate legal and regulatory environment of business operation and management with international and comparative perspective (mainly the U.S. and China). We will study and discuss the following topics:
Topic 1. Law and Business Decision: Why is law important to management?
Topic 2.Establishing a Business: How to establish a business entity?
Topic 3. Corporate Governance: How to manage a company (within the law)?
Topic 4. Private Property Protection: How to protect private property?
Topic 5. Intellectual Property: How to protect and use IP legally?
Topic 6. Contract: How to deal with other traders in the market?
Topic 7. Consumer Protection: How to deal with the consumers?
Topic 8. Labor Protection: How to deal with your employer or employees?
Topic 9. Antimonopoly: How does law regulate competition activities?
For each topic, the teaching is composed of two parts. The first part is to introduce the common or general law rules with important implications for management which are applicable in many countries. The second part is to focus on China. For many issues, the teaching will compare China with the U.S. or other western countries.
任课教授
WANG Chuanhui had worked as associate professor and legal consultant at Lingnan College, SYSU for more than 11 years. He received his bachelor degree in law from Yantai University and two master degrees in law respectively from East China University of Political Science and Law and the University of Michigan. He did his doctoral study in law in Belgium and received a PhD in Law from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven). In addition, he holds a PhD in economics from the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
Since 2004, he has been active in teaching MBA, IMBA, EMBA, and CHEMBA at Lingnan. He aslo taught at MIB School of Management (Italy) and Queensland University of Technology (Australia). For his contribution to teaching, he was awarded the Eminent Teaching Prize by Lingnan in 2004, 2007 and 2010. In addition, he received the Popular Faculty Prize from the CHEMBA students in 2016 and 2021.
He solely authors one book in English published by Cambridge University Press and two books in Chinese published respectively by China Renmin University Press and Tsinghua University Press. In addition, he co-authors two books in Chinese published respectively by China Renmin University Press and Economy & Management Publishing House.
