Dean Li, distinguished faculty members, honored guests, graduates from Lingnan MBA programs, and China Executive MBA program graduates:

Greetings from Minnesota and the Carlson School of Management. I’m Stephen Parente, Associate Dean of Carlson Global Institute and the CHEMBA Academic Co-Director.

In May, I had the pleasure of meeting the CHEMBA 21 cohort during their Academic Residency and Commencement ceremony in Minneapolis. After three long years of waiting, our campus was greatly enriched by their presence. This group of graduates embodies the best of what it means to be a part of the CHEMBA family—hard work, team spirit, perseverance and a commitment to lifelong learning and growth.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Carlson School, congratulations on the completion of the CHEMBA program! Today, we celebrate your accomplishments. You have honed your business skills in various disciplines, ranging from finance to marketing; operations to strategy. You embraced the importance of collaboration and a global mindset by successfully completing the Global Team Project with your peers from Europe and the United States. The global landscape is constantly evolving, and as Global Executive MBA graduates, you have demonstrated the ability to adapt and thrive in the face of challenges.You’ve developed skills and competencies needed to maximize today’s business performance and ensure a successful future for your companies and your own careers. Furthermore, you’ve done all this while balancing the demands of your jobs and personal lives.

Take this moment to reflect upon your journey. Remember the challenges you overcame, the late nights studying, the discussions and debates that expanded your horizons. Also remember the joyous moments, the camaraderie, and the laughter shared with your classmates. Cherish these memories, for they are the building blocks of a successful and fulfilling life. I have no doubt that each of you will utilize all that you have learned from the CHEMBA program to accomplish great things both personally and professionally.

For over 100 years, the faculty at the Carlson School have educated and inspired ethical, driven and innovative leaders. Today, you join this esteemed rank of alumni who support each new generation of leaders and help them to succeed. You are now part of our strength and part of our history. I hope you will continue the rich history of staying connected to the school as alumni by investing your time, talents and resources in our purpose to create a brighter future. We are very grateful for your trust in the Carlson School and hope that you continue to stay connected to the school for years to come.
