Time slipped away so quickly even before we realized it. It’s been 6 years since I had my first class of CHEMBA program. When looking back from today, the whole experience with CHEMBA still amazed me in a way like a wonderland. It’s filled with memories of excitement, shock, depression, pain, enjoyment and proud.
时光悄悄溜走，第一节CHEMBA 的课堂距我已经过去 6 年了。回望过去，与CHEMBA相伴的记忆依然如梦似幻，有惊有喜，有起有落，我享受其中，也深深为之自豪。

I was urged to apply the program by the fact of my lack of professional knowledge about the business administration. Back in 2015, I had been in the senior manager position for already several years in the company. However, from time to time, I was facing challenges and difficulties to support my team, to deal with daily operational issues inside company and also to provide excellent solutions to our business partners. I used to make my decisions mostly based on own working experiences, rather than professional thinking or systematic business knowledge. I realized that there was an urgent demand I could not avoid or postpone any longer, which was to obtain further scientific business management knowledge through a professional and systemic program. CHEMBA is exactly such a platform.
对深入学习工商管理专业知识的渴望鼓励着我申请了这个项目。2015 年时，我担任了公司的高级经理。然而，困难和挑战也相伴而至，如何支持团队、处理公司内部的日常运营问题、并为我们的业务合作伙伴提供出色的解决方案，让我时有力不从心。我过去做决定习惯于从自己的工作经验出发，而不是专业思维或系统的商业知识。这使我意识到，我迫切需要专业知识的储备，不能再拖延逃避了。而CHEMBA恰好正是这样一个专业和系统的项目，能提供进一步的科学的企业管理知识的平台。

Thanks to Marina Chen, an alumnus from CHEMBA 14, also my previous colleague by that time, who introduced and encouraged me to apply the program. I was able to know CHEMBA a bit before the application and immediately got attracted by the comprehensive and systemic curriculum of CHEMBA. (Of because I didn’t realize yet then how all these courses would mean to me with regarding to the CRAZY heavy readings, class assignments and homework.) 
多亏了CHEMBA14的校友Marina Chen，也就是我过去的同事，她将CHEMBA介绍给我，并鼓励我前来申请。在申请之前，我刚略知CHEMBA，就立即被它全面且系统的课程体系所吸引。（其实，在当时我还没有意识到这些课程意味着什么，也猜不到疯狂的阅读量、课堂作业和家庭作业已经在等着我了）。

From most fundamental courses such as Organizational Behavior, Business Strategy, Operational Management to more specified scopes such as Marketing management and Strategy, Financial Accounting or Statistics for Business and Economics, IT management and HR management, etc., the series of courses cover each dimension of the business administration. It provides such overall knowledge system based on a global standpoint and it surely empowers many people in situation similar to myself, to break the bottle neck in our career life and to understand the business administration in an elevated level. 
从组织行为学、商业战略、运营管理这些最基本的课程，到营销管理和战略、财务会计、商务统计、IT 管理和人力资源管理等更具体的范围，一系列课程涵盖了工商管理的各个方面。它提供了基于全球视野的整体知识框架，十分有助于许多处于类似我当下情境的人去打破职业生涯中的瓶颈，在更高的层次上理解工商管理。

Alongside the scientific selected curriculum, I was shocked by each and every professor from CHEMBA program. SHOCKED, indeed. Doubtless they are all scholars of the highest attainment. Besides that, each of professors has such strong, unique model of instruction in the class which really impressed me. 

Prof. Aks Zaheer, most strict but at the same time with so much persuasion and contrivance, made us asking questions instead of accepting passively during the class. 
Prof. Michelle Duffy, I was enchanted by her scientific and profound OB theories and models. “The three little things you feel gratitude every day”, I have been using this method since then and it always works so well in an unbelievable efficient way. 
Prof. WANG Chuanhui, thanks to him, I had the easiest law-learning experience with so much fun, full of laughter in that class. 
Prof. CUI Haitao, who made all of us learned the dedicate marketing tactics and skills. In a 2 hours simulation we have seen how customer behavior can be changeable or even unpredictable whenever we made the subtle adjustment from marketing angle. 

There were so many more to tell if I’m allowed. With no exception, every professor intended to enlighten their students to keep learning in an open mind, to listen to the others, to accept the differences, to embrace the challenges, to search multiple answers to our doubts and our problems. Besides the professional knowledge I’ve gained from CHEMBA, the CHEMBA spirits like above mentioned always touch me deeply. And I’ve realized the importance of such spirits more profoundly at the last step of our learning tour. The VTP.

除了项目科学系统的课程让我惊喜，CHEMBA课程的每一位教授都让我非常的不可思议，惊叹连连。毫无疑问，他们都是到达了学术之巅的学者。除此以外，每个教授在课堂上都有风格独特的教学模式，让我印象颇深。

Prof. Aks Zaheer是最严格的，但他同时循循善诱，给予我们充分提问的空间，而不是被动地传授课堂知识。Prof. Michelle Duffy，我深深着迷于她的科学和组织行为学理论和模型。"你每天都感到感激的三件小事"这个方法，从那堂课起一直伴随着我，发挥了难以置信的效果。Prof. 王传辉，多亏了他，我们得以用最轻松的方式学习法律，课堂上总是充满了欢声笑语。Prof. Tony Cui让我们所有人都学会了精准的营销策略和技能。在 2 小时的商业模拟中，我们看到了每当我们从营销角度进行细微的调整时，客户行为是如何产生变化甚至多变至不可预知的。

囿于篇幅所限，其实我想说的还有很多。无一例外，每一个教授都力图启发学生以开放的心态来学习，倾听他人的意见，接受观点差异，积极迎接挑战，去寻找问题的多重答案。除了从 CHEMBA 获得的专业知识外，CHEMBA 精神总是深深地打动着我。处于学习之旅尾声的VTP，让我更加深刻地认识到了这种精神的重要性。

The VTP project is a perfect practice to review and test how much CHEMBA students have really taken home from the 16 courses in nearly 2 years learning. It’s excited for all of us and at the same time challenging . Pulling students from 3 different countries to forge a team  to work out a brand-new business plan, it requires initiative and innovation, compromise and comprehension, responsibility and flexibility. And it’s a continuous learning experience. It refreshed our mind of almost every detailed business knowledge, and most important, to many information we didn’t pay enough or serious attention during the class, and pushed us back to think them over, and tried to bring the nutrition of all the classes to feed the project. 

On the other hand, even though I had already worked in the American Corporation with global environment for more than 15 years, it’s still so much to learn to work together with our foreign teammates from VTP. We all came from different countries/culture with different working background, and had different time zone too. I admired so much our teammates for their high efficiency, sharp thinking model and knowledge-ability. However only the previous mentioned attitude we’ve learned from CHEMBA enable us the smooth communication and make our VTP project eventually successful. 
VTP 项目是一个堪称完美的实践项目，可以让同学们回顾并检验在近 2 年的学习中真正从 16 门课程的收获。这让我们每个人都摩拳擦掌，跃跃欲试。从3个不同国家抽取学生组成团队，制定全新的商业计划，这需要主动与创新、妥协与理解、责任与灵活性。这是一个边学边做的体验。它让我们复习了几乎每一个详细的商业知识，最重要的是，这个项目让我们不断回想起许多在课堂上一看而过的知识点，并让我们不断尝试将课堂所学应用于项目中。

另一方面，尽管我已经在美国公司的全球环境中工作超过15年，但要与来自VTP的国外队友合作时，仍然有很多需要学习。我们都来自不同的国家与文化，有不同的工作背景，还在不同的时区工作。我非常钦佩我们的队友们的高效率、敏锐的思维模式和丰富的知识储备。但光有这些品质是不够的，只有我们将从 CHEMBA 中学到的精神，正如之前所说，才能使我们能够顺利沟通并使我们的 VTP 项目最终取得成功。

With same attitude, I have enjoyed so much the whole process in CHEMBA, together with my classmates. From all the discussions we had exchanged on or off the classes, they always made me alert that there are so many excellent people from all kinds of industries/trades with different vocations. They are all professional, humble, passionate, flexible and intelligent. The opportunity to know so many elites from kinds of working background, to have conversation with them, to learn from them is an huge extra prize given by CHEMBA. and I was so fortunate. 
带着同样的心态，我和同学们一起享受了CHEMBA的整个过程。在课上或课外进行的所有讨论中，他们总是让我觉察到，有着这么多来自不同职业与行业的优秀人才。他们工作专业、待人谦逊、对事热情、处变灵活并且也非常聪明。有机会认识这么多来自各种工作背景的精英，与他们交谈，向他们学习，是CHEMBA给予的另一个巨大奖励，我感到非常幸运。

Thanks to CHEMBA, and wish no more but a prosperous and strong future of CHEMBA. Wish all the others which have same needs as I did several years ago, to have the same opportunity to know CHEMBA, sitting in the classrooms of Lingnan University, singing the beautiful school anthem, appreciating the unique view of Zhu-Jiang river, keeping learning and growing, alongside with CHEMBA.

感谢 CHEMBA ，祝愿 CHEMBA 未来繁荣兴盛。希望所有和我几年前一样有同样需求的人也有相同的机会去认识CHEMBA，能够坐在中山大学岭南学院的教室里，唱着“白云山高”，欣赏珠江水长，与CHEMBA一起不断学习和成长。
