The 26th International Congress on Insurance: Mathematics and Economics (IME 2023) will take place on 4th – 7th July 2023, hosted by the Department of Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics at Heriot-Watt University (HWU), in association with the journal Insurance: Mathematics and Economics. The conference will take place at the Edinburgh Conference Centre at HWU’s Edinburgh campus.
We are proud to have been given the opportunity to host the first in-person IME congress since Munich in 2019 and we look forward to welcoming you all in Summer 2023!
The Department of Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics at HWU was founded in 1972 and just had its 50th golden anniversary celebration in 2022. The actuarial undergraduate and postgraduate programs can be considered to be the jewel in the crown of HWU and we have distinguished alumni working all around the world in a wide range of actuarial work. The actuarial research group at HWU also holds strong connections with the University of Edinburgh through the Maxwell Institute and the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

We are delighted to confirm Séverine Arnold, Julia Eisenberg and Mario Wüthrich as keynote speakers.
