OBJECTIVES
The Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo and the Brazilian Statistical Association (ABE) announce the Seventh Brazilian Conference on Statistical Modelling in Insurance and Finance (7th BCSMIF), to be held on March 1-6, 2020, at the Maresias Beach Hotel in Maresias, SP (located at the kilometer 154 on the Rio-Santos highway, being 180 km from São Paulo and 370 km from Rio de Janeiro).
The 7th Brazilian Conference on SMIF aims at providing a forum for the presentation of state-of-the-art research in the development, implementation, and real-world applications of Statistical/Stochastic Modelling in Actuarial Sciences and Finance, as well as promoting discussion and interchange between junior and senior scientists. The 7th BCSMIF is open to both academic and non-academic communities from universities, insurance companies, banks, consulting firms and governmental agencies, and is specifically designed to contribute to fostering the cooperation between practitioners and theoreticians in the field. Some selected papers will be invited for publication in a special issue of the Brazilian Journal of Probability and Statistics.
Data Science will be the main conference topic. Several related invited talks and short courses will be presented. English will be the official language of the event.
The organizers encourage the submission of original research papers, work-in-progress reports, future research proposals, practical problems expecting solution and students papers. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
